Are you looking out…or in?
An executive that fully embraces the intersection of personal and organizational core values can unknowingly fall into an unproductive trap. It is developing a culture that uses the values as a judgement tool of others rather than a transformational tool of self.
A values-based organization requires a leader’s on-going inner-work to ever have an outward impact. Without a consistent inward focus, we can find ourselves violating our own values in the midst of our outward observation of others. If we find ourselves looking-out more than looking-in, we are typically on a path to becoming a better judge than a leader.
