John and Cindy’s 2025 Holiday Page

Two years ago, we decided the time had come to let go of a beloved tradition—our Annual Christmas Card. While 2023 marked our final mailing, it was far from our final wish to stay connected. As we released the old, we embraced something new: this Holiday page, a space to share a glimpse of our year and send our love your way.

And all is well here. Cindy continues to savor her new season of “retirement,” though she can’t quite stay away from what she enjoys most.  She delights in reconnecting with teacher friends and students by working as a lunchroom supervisor at the elementary school, and she’s back each summer working at the school district registration office–where relationships never really retire.

John launched into his 30th year of full-time speaking this year, and the work has evolved into a laser focus on what he calls the Reimagination of Integrity … a message that feels especially vital in times such as these. He’s in the midst of reimagining how this work shows up in the world, and come late January, a new website experience will launch at JohnBlumberg.com.

We enjoyed a wonderful mix of travel this year, heading down to Little Rock to soak up time with Julie, Keegan, and our three grands there—EJ (7), Savannah (5), and Sadie Mae (3). We ventured to new places too: Charleston in January and the stunning island of Kauai in November. We also returned to Fort Myers Beach for the first time since Hurricane Ian. Three years later, the scars of the storm are still heartbreaking to see, yet the resilient spirit of recovery rising from the rubble was deeply inspiring.

But as fun as travel is, there’s no place like home sweet home—Chicago. We treasure every visit from Kelly when she comes out from Lincoln Park, and we’re grateful beyond measure to have Ryan, Kirstin, and our two all-boy grands, Declan (5) and Ronan (3), right here in the the western ‘burbs of Chicagoland!

This year, more than ever, we’re reminded that the true gift of the season isn’t found in cards or pages—it’s in the connections we hold dear, the love that keeps growing, and the hope we carry forward together.

We hope you’ll stay connected in new ways—at the Holidays and every day—as we plan to do the same. In the meantime, we’re wishing you the Merriest of Christmases and the Happiest of Holidays—this year and all the years to come!
