What are the pressure points that make living our core values challenging at times?
Not specifically knowing our core values could probably take the lead spot on this list. Yet plenty of other pressure points…many of them actually good things in and of themselves…could be added to the list. Even in knowing our values, yet unaware of the pressure points, creates a dilemma.
What might you add to the list…from your own experience? Share your thoughts and increase the awareness for all of us!
Pressure points for me are good opportunities, positive things that appeal to me that I want to choose. But a ‘yes’ to them might mean putting my core values aside. My core values guide my decision for the ‘better good’. Or else I start to drift….
I can relate this to my favorite sport Golf. Pressure is playing in a tournament and being behind by a couple of strokes. You must decide do I risk it all by shooting at Sucker Pins. Does the Reward outweigh the Risk. When I was a Scratch Player I would shoot at Hidden Flags now I just try and place it within 25 ft. And move on to the next hole. My experience has taught me to not be foolish, and not do what I am no longer capable of doing. Older yet Wiser I guess!!!
